Field Captures

The Field Capture mobile workflow allows forecourt attendants (Field Capture role) to submit nozzle readings and tank dip measurements directly from a shared mobile device.

QR code login

Field Capture users log in by scanning a QR code printed by an administrator, rather than entering an email and password. This is designed for shared devices where individual credentials are impractical.

To generate and print QR codes:

  1. Go to Administration → Users (Admin only).
  2. Select a Field Capture user.
  3. Click Generate QR login.
  4. Print the QR sheet and laminate it for forecourt use.

Capture workflow

  1. Open the MyWestock mobile app on the shared device.
  2. Tap Scan QR and point the camera at the printed QR code.
  3. Select the shift (morning / afternoon / evening).
  4. Work through the capture checklist:
  5. Nozzle totalizer readings — enter and optionally photograph
  6. Tank dip readings — enter and optionally photograph
  7. Submit the capture.

Captures are queued if there is no internet connection and submitted automatically when connectivity is restored.

Supervisor review

All field captures appear in the supervisor review queue (Back Office → Field captures). A supervisor must accept each capture before it is applied to the shift record.

Rejected captures must be re-submitted by the field operator with a corrected reading.
