Stock¶
The Stock screen shows the current estimated stock-on-hand for each tank at the site, calculated from the wet-stock book.
Book stock calculation¶
Book stock = Opening stock + Deliveries − Sales
This is the theoretical stock based on recorded transactions. It is reconciled against physical dip readings.
Stock movement summary¶
The stock screen shows:
- Opening stock (start of period)
- Deliveries received
- Sales volume
- Closing book stock
- Latest dip reading
- Book vs dip variance
Variance investigation¶
A variance between book stock and dip reading may indicate:
- Meter/totalizer error
- Delivery discrepancy
- Evaporation or temperature expansion
- Product loss or theft
Variances exceeding the configured threshold generate an alert in the Back Office dashboard.
